Blogtoberfest, the second!

Ok, folks, just an f.y.i. to you baseball fans...who I know are out there...

Blogtoberfest is scheduled for Thursday October 25th.

World Series, Game 2, is also scheduled for October 25th.

The party starts at six. The game starts at eight.

I'm just sayin.

You know.

Be aware.

This has "Party Foul of the Year" potential all-over it.

I'll be parked under the television for the first pitch. Do come join me, it's a great game.

How is it a party foul? We have the back end of the downstairs reserved for just us, most people are coming from work, work in the Boston area, may be planning on watching the game anyway - and for those of us who don't care about the sport? Even better.

As an actual event planner, mr. know-it-all, the situation is pretty perfect.

PERFECT?! Do you not understand how superstitions work!? The reason the Red Sox won the World Series in 2004 is because I sat in the same chair, in the exact same position, doing the exact same thing for every pitch of every game of the '04 playoffs!

What would have happened, I ask you, if I had gone gallivanting off with "friends," for "drinks," at a "bar"?!

We might still be waiting on a ninety year old curse, or whatever the sportswriters would be pinning it on these days.

We wouldn't have won the championship!

Now. I'm not saying it's a party foul. I'm just saying it's a potential party foul. And, if, after the first pitch, I don't move, or blink, or speak, that there's a damn good reason.

tom,

I'm glad you're having this important discussion, at this, my favorite time of year. Just this morning, I was offered an alternate spot to watch the sox game tonight. I was left feeling uncomfortable, as I had to decline based purely on superstition. I was left feeling even more uncomfortable when I had to explictly state, that I could not, in fact, invite the invitee as she was not present for the ALDS. While I'm not suggesting you skip any blogothon, your obligation in this scenario rests clearly and firmly with the home town 9.

There will be no talk about the World Series until the ALCS has ended! Stop it!

potential, eileen, potential. Seriously, I know how far away the line is, and I'm plenty far away.

How far away? I'm about as far back as Remy calling a no-hitter, certainly there's tons more space before you even get to Orsillo calling a no-hitter distance, then you get to the line, then you cross it.

I'm way back. No worries.
