Seeking Direction

Hello, readers, I'd like to ask for your help.

What's the best way to get through, or around, New York City? Ideally I'd like to avoid all traffic at all costs.

Also, no low-clearance bridges, I'll be driving a moving truck.

I'm serious. If anyone suggests the George Washington Bridge I'll track you down myself, drag you there by your hair, and pitch you into the Hudson. (GWB crosses the Hudson, right?)

Seriously, help.

Thanks,
-t

no traffic in new york city? are you kidding? i made a weekly trip from nyc to connecticut for 10 months and there was always traffic, unless you are going at 3am.

is your end destination new york city? or just trying to get around it?

I'm trying to get around it, coming up from Birmingham, AL to Boston, MA

Obviously "no traffic" isn't going to happen, but what I want to avoid is a four-hour traffic jam leading up to a twelve-dollar toll.

Go through Scranton. Scranton could use some traffic.

do you have to hit nyc at all? i think you can drive through pa into ny state. like 78 to 287/87 to 84, 84 goes to boston right?

one of the pa roads that connects 78 to 84 is really bad, but i always forget which one. and beware, radio is terrible around there.
