Commenting has dropped off of late. Here and everywhere else it seems. Take Amazo’s shaving post. Ample fodder there for chiming in, and yet, nothing. So I’ve decided to step up my own commenting on other blogs, because hey, getting comments is like getting a postcard in the mail. Very exciting, even if it’s not very informative and the picture on the front is crappy and out of focus so you can tell it was one of those cheap twenty for a dollar postcard deals and not a fancy $2.59 postcard from a posh gift shop.
Comments is comments.

i've been a faithful commenter, but rarely do i get replies. i am starting to think you don't even really like me. you just use me to bump up your comment numbers.
i wouldn't mind if you did the same for me, mister.
BIG DETOUR 2005
so listen, BD, I was thinking...are you really excited about a road trip in a truck you didn't want me to get in the first place, or are you just giving me a hard time?
-OR-
are you just trying to get me down to philly to pay some fictional bet with a nonfictional cheesesteak?
deceivery, thy name is adina.
plus, it is an awfully big detour...so maybe instead of driving down there then over there then up there then back down then back over then back down then back home (boston to philly to chicago to milwaukee and back)
it would make more sense to just drive down to philly one weekend, separately, so instead of a Big Detour it's a Little Drive. But again, I only suggest this because I know how much you loathed the idea of me getting a truck and so doubt the veracity of your professed excitement about the Big Drive bonaza.

let me remind you that you are visiting Donny, who was also against you getting your truck but who is not against you as a person who potentially will visit him. so, therefore, even though i am against the truck (which please don't get me wrong i am still totally against) i am not against you as a person. just your truck. your giant red unnecessary truck.
this all said, have i EVER given you a hard time? i think people have been known to call me soft times Adina's Last Name. however, this might not have anything to do with anything.
oh and you always would get drunk at my apt. don't you forget that tom.
i doubt "deceivery" is a word. i am sure you will M-W it, so i am not going to even bother. but my english instincts say NOT A WORD.
anyway, i think Big Detour 2005 is a way better name than Big Drive. And you can't use the Big Detour name without said detour (said detour being ME).
and you could also come to philly to buy me that cheesesteak THAT IS NOT NONFICTION IT IS TOTALLY REAL AND IT MAKES ME FURIOUS THAT YOU NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED MY FIFTEEN GOLDEN HAIKUS THAT I SPENT A LOT OF TIME AT WORK THINKING UP ALL FOR YOUR STUPID NO WINNER GAME.
anyway i would be down for a Little Drive but I just don't think it has the same ring as Big Detour. When we're old, do we really want to be like,
adina: "Oh remember that Little Drive you took to visit me?"
tom: "Yeah. You were totally right. we should have done the Big Detour. Much better name.
adina: Told you so.
Anyway, I would like you to seriously consider Bid Detour 2005. Is Raymond going at the same time? Because then we would even have an equal amount of asians. If only Raymond was a girl...
I am a fun road companion. I am a good road game player. We would have great stories. We would be driving to MILWAUKEE.
Plus, I'm the only one that has actively pursued going with you.
ps bonanza is spelled BONANZA not bonaza.
oh and no one comments in johnny's blog because he rarely comments in others. like adina's.
BIG DETOUR 2005
HEY FOR ONE THING ADINA, I DO SOMETIMES COMMENT, BUT YOU DONT ALWAYS KNOW IT IS ME BECAUSE LIVEJOURNAL WONT LET ME PUT MY NAME AND SOMETIMES I FORGET.
Also, nonfiction means real, so your outburst, "THAT IS NOT NONFICTION IT IS TOTALLY REAL AND IT MAKES ME FURIOUS THAT YOU NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED MY FIFTEEN GOLDEN HAIKUS THAT I SPENT A LOT OF TIME AT WORK THINKING UP ALL FOR YOUR STUPID NO WINNER GAME," is incorrect.
pbbbbt.
deceivery is not a word, I used it because it sounds like strategery (also not a word) which was used in a great snl presidential debate sketch
also, what about dan? does he want in on the road trip? have you even asked him about it? hmm?
and it's not a big truck, it's a small truck.
¡DECEIVERY!
johnny i was referring to tom's statement "are you just trying to get me down to philly to pay some fictional bet with a nonfictional cheesesteak" where he is calling said cheesesteak nonfictional.
said cheesesteak is NOT nonfictional. it is real. that is what i'm saying. i'm saying it is a real cheesesteak. you should read comments more carefully johnny.
don't forget who named you who you are, johnnybombay.
and try harder to remember to sign your comments.
and don't shout so much. it makes your face red.
and don't stick your tongue. very unflattering.
and fix your posture.
and you never even acknowledged that i got engaged. no all caps reply, "OHMYGOD CONGRATULATIONS!" nothing like that. it sort of hurt my feelings. i was expecting engagement sapphire earrings from you. it was really a stab in the back.
tom sent cash. cold hard cash, bless his soul.
REPLY TO THAT JOHNNY.
dan who?
ADINA. YOU GOT IT WRONG AGAIN.
nonfiction = real
fiction = fake
you are TRYING to say that the cheesesteak is NONFICTION, but you keep saying that it is NOT NONFICTION, which would be FICTION, which is WRONG.
AND I TOTALLY WROTE A COMMENT ON YOUR ENGAGEMENT POST! IT SAID, AND I QUOTE BECAUSE I COPIED IT FROM YOUR SITE:
CONGRATULATIONS ADINA AND DAN WHOEVER YOU ARE!!
I am absolutely thrilled for the two of you!!!
I was thrilled, Adina. Thrilled! I don't throw around the t-word for just anything.
the t-word you mean is "thrilled" right? because that's really more of a thr-word, just like "tree" is more of a tr-word. I'd have to say something like "tag" would be a t-word, because there aren't any compound sounds at the begining, just the simple 't' sound.
you know, like the f-word and the m-word (marriage) don't have compound sounds, just the __ letter, (_-word) and then a vowel. but, now that you mention it, what would a word that started with a vowel be like...I guess something like "engagement" (e-word), antarctic (a-word), or hellfire (h-word)...it bears thinking about.
¡BONAZA!
ok possibly i got the nonfiction thing wrong. possibly. wrong. i am not someone who cannot admit wrongness.
and i am glad that you congratulated me (and dan even though you don't remember him - think asian who lived with adina in boston) on my website. i would have acknowledged your congratulatory remark if you had said,
love, johnnybombay.
but i am glad now and i am glad you are thrilled. here is my acknowledgement of your congratulatory remark:
THANK YOU I REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
i am still accepting cash though.
tom - how is that for massive commenting effort? i would say it is not nonfiction, no?
I used to get confused too, back when we were learning about fiction and nonfiction. They'd say "fiction starts with F just like fake, they both start with F" and "Nonfiction is not-fiction, therefore not-fake, therefore real."
but then I'd go home thinking "Fiction starts with F, just like Fact" and it was downhill from there.
¿!GONZAGA¡?
John, don't give Adina (the English major) such a hard time. Cut her some flack.
Adina, I have also thought about the possibility that I would have two Asian here at one time. The would double the Asian population of Milwaukee.
Tom, if you're serious about Big Detour, we should talk about dates. My parents are considering a visit, Ray's considering a visit, and I have an exam in November. You should call me so we could discuss it. Also, I endorse the idea of driving with Adina. You can't make a straight drive to Chicago - especially if you have to stop every 10 miles to refill the gas tank (Stupid truck). You can stop and stay overnight with Adina and that guy she lives with. It'll be a good chance for you to buy the haiku cheesesteak that you owe her. And I think the stories of a trip with her would be priceless.
yo
I like comments too
And what about Milwaukee?
F
When I arrived home I immediately checked my dictionary and it turns out that I misspelled "flak" in an earlier post.
You know, Tom, on your way to Philly, you can take a small detour and see the World's Largest Pothole, the Archbald Pothole, of Archbald, Pennsylvania.
Just think about how much Yuengling you'll be able carry in your big, red truck.
Donny i am seriously smitten over you right now. great comments. really, quality comments. they had everything - enthusiasm, laughter, heartache. you made my morning.
BIG DETOUR 2005
I'll lay off Adina, Donny, but I will never forget all of the plague that came off of your teeth.
And I won't rub it in, but I have honestly never had a problem with "fiction" and "non-fiction" and I think that's just ridiculous.
Also, my mom is a librarian.
And Tom, the Spanish punctuation of English non-interjections was a nice quirk at first, but now it is just confusing.
¡ARIBA!
